A veteran faculty brings all of our students' � senses into play during lessons. At Schechter, chicken eggs hatch, real owls visit our classrooms and Third graders give PowerPoint presentations. As Head of School since July of 2007, I feel it is critical for Solomon Schechter to bestow three gifts upon the children who pass through our doors. An identity, a language, q tradition of Jewish values. These gifts come in addition to an already superb independent school education, and they are what make us unique as a school.

At Schechter, your children will learn to speak Hebrew. Our students begin speaking Hebrew in our Gan / Kindergarten class and move on to reading and free composition by First grade. Their exposure to two languages at an early age has a tremendous impact on their learning and critical thinking skills. Solomon Schechter is proud to be a Zionist school, passionately committed to the State of Israel and its people. When our graduating students travel to Israel on their Eighth grade class trip, they are able to communicate with peers in Hebrew, as their years of classroom study becomes reality in the Land of Israel.

With affiliations ranging from the Conservative, Reform, Orthodox and Reconstructionist movements, our families find common ground in a shared commitment to the Jewish values which shape the day to day experiences of our school.
